Building our communities: charitable giving

In 2016, Rockwell Collins allocated more than $5.4 million in charitable and in-kind contributions in our communities.

Educational support

More than 50 percent of our total charitable funds go toward education. Partner organizations such as FIRST®, Engineers Week and Project Lead the Way offer exciting and engaging projects and activities to give K-12 students hands-on learning experiences.

In recognition of the importance of higher education, Rockwell Collins allocated more than $1,000,000 to our college and university partners in 2016. From funding critical skills labs to sponsorships of traditionally underrepresented groups in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs, our University Funding supports STEM subjects and encourages students to follow a STEM-related career path. Seven schools have earned the status of Trusted Partners and receive support for engineering and finance/accounting programs, while Growth Schools are awarded funds for engineering scholarships and can also apply for industry-related grant funding.

Employee Contributions

Our employees also demonstrate incredible personal support for our communities through our annual United Way employee pledge campaign. In 2016, employees pledged nearly $2 million to the campaign, which supports the United Way, its agencies and other health and human service organizations.

Rockwell Collins supports employees' individual giving by matching charitable contributions made to organizations that have a primary mission of either education or arts and culture.
