Diversity

Rockwell Collins serves a diverse mix of customers across its commercial and government businesses. In both, we are a key supplier to domestic and international original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers. For our commercial business this includes major airlines, regional carriers and business aircraft operators, as well as aircraft manufacturers worldwide.

Our government business spans all branches of the U.S. military and many foreign militaries, as well as the prime contractors who require our systems. Within our government business we offer a diverse portfolio of solutions addressing a wide variety of requirements for our customers. This includes electronics and communication solutions for all types of airborne, ground and maritime platforms and applications.

Diversity of customers and portfolios allows us to serve customers in adjacent market segments with products originally developed for our core market segments. For example, Government Systems has primarily been known as a provider of solutions for airborne applications. However, through increased focus on ground vehicle and soldier systems, we have been awarded contracts that include integrated displays, navigation and communication systems for these platforms.

This level of diversity provides stability in uncertain economic times, as revenues are generated from across a broad base, and are not reliant on the success of any single customer.
