MIDS JTRS GENERAL QUESTIONS
Q: What is MIDS JTRS?
- The MIDS JTRS is an evolutionary radio
built from the foundation of the MIDS LVT. The MIDS JTRS is a
4-channel radio with one channel dedicated to the complex Link
16 waveform and three additional 2 MHz – 2GHz channels capable
of hosting a variety of other JTRS waveforms.
Q: When will MIDS JTRS be available?
- The first delivery for low-rate initial
production is scheduled for February 2010.
- Contractor qualification testing is
schedule for July 2009
- Government qualification testing is
scheduled for August 2009
Q: Is MIDS JTRS the same form and fit as a
MIDS LVT?
- Yes. It is designed with Link 16, TACAN
and voice plus three 2MHz to 2 GHz programmable transceivers.
