Support Facilities

DLS D-Level | Heidelberg I-Level | Third Party Approval

DLS has the capability to provide different levels of support to meet individual customer needs. 
 
As an Original Equipment Manufacturer, DLS has the capability and authorization to provide Depot Level (D-Level) support and services.
 
     D-Level allows for troubleshooting and repair of Shop Replaceable Units (SRUs):
  • Isolation of unserviceable components within the SRU
  • Replacement of components within the SRU
  • Test and verification of SRU functionality
  • Test and verification of LRU functionality
D-Level support facilities are located in:
DLS East (Wayne, New Jersey) and DLS West (Cedar Rapids, Iowa)
 
DLS is expanding the capability of providing support and services by establishing Intermediate Level (I-Level) support facilities around the globe. 
     I-Level allows for troubleshooting and repair of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs):
  • Isolation of unserviceable SRUs
  • Repair of LRU by replacing unserviceable SRUs with units from spares inventory
  • Test and verification of repaired LRU functionality  
  • Return of repaired LRUs to customer inventory
  • Shipment of unserviceable SRUs to D-Level facility
Current I-Level support facilities are located in:
Heidelberg, Germany
 
Note: I-Level repairs performed at the Heidelberg facility will require formal third party approval from the U.S. Department of State.  Click here for additional information on the approval process.
 
Future I-Level support facilities will be located in:
  • Australia
  • Canada
  • Japan
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Waddington Royal Air Force Base, United Kingdom
Note: Support facilities not located in MIDS member nations are only authorized to repair that country’s terminals
