The platform operator courses are designed for individuals assigned to operational tactical link units. Operators are defined as individuals who provide information to the data link via manual or automated means or make decisions based on information provided by Link 16.

 5.1 Link 16 for Platform Operators System Course

This course covers basic tactical link theory, operational concepts, employment considerations, communications theory, and the impact of Link 16 on the operational environment. Students will gain an understanding of the operational capabilities and limitations of the system.

5.2 Link 16 Platform Displays and Controls (F-16)

The course concentrates on the procedures a platform operator must use to properly configure the platform to participate in a Link 16 network. Upon completion, the platform operator will be able to prepare and execute a Link 16 mission.
